Kachi Leo was born in Aba city of Abia State where he had his primary school education, which he later moved down to the south (Akwa Ibom State) for his secondary school education. Mum and Dad where strong lovers of music which affected and influenced him deeply as he got the exposure at a very tender age .... started writing songs and singing to mates while in college at the age of 13,at night, there would be a singing challenge which he always involves himself into. He started with "emo rap" and succeeded in gaining attention from friends in school. Kachi Leo never thought he could do "Afrobeat" but story changed when he started listening to arts like Runtown,Olamide,Phyno,Davido, Burna Boy and a lot of Nigerian Singers

Wrote his first Afrobeat song with a classmate which he titled "So Fine", after which he fully got involved in the African Way of Music at the age of 15.

Singers that inspired him at a very tender age right from home where Celine Dion (mum's favorite),Lil Wayne, Tupac Shakur, Beyonce,P square,50 CENT and many more.

Mom never wanted Him to do music as she said was a dangerous kind of life but after seeing how interested and devoted he was, she had no other choice but to support him. Had his first studio record at 17 , Kachi Leo have been heard in many places saying "Omah Lay is my favorite African Singer", according to him,he started going crazy for the singer's song after he listened to DAMN Once played for a football team, said he has great love for football icon LIONEL MESSI which was one of the things that inspired his name KACHI LEO, also went as far to call himself... LIONBOY.
