Event:Documenting and Improving Athlete Profiles on Wikidata

Overview

The "Documenting and Improving Athletes Profile" project on Wikidata is an offshoot of the Igbo Wiki Fan Club Imo State University in partnership with Mira Empowerment Foundation, as a workshop to train both existing and new users on how to contribute to making knowledge open and free. This project is focused on increasing and improving athletes visibility by adding labels, and translating descriptions of athletes to Igbo language. Collaboration with volunteers is emphasized in this project to guarantee the data's diversity, correctness, and cultural significance.

Project Details

The project will take the form of an edit-a-thon lasting for a duration of 14 days.

Launch: Saturday 22nd February 2025

Time: 12:00PM WAT

Contest ends: Saturday 8th March 2025 11:59 PM WAT
