At the top in red text it reads "Johannesburg - Doornfontein Siemert Road (showing the New Synagogue and Queen Victoria Maternity Home)". Along the left side, also in red, it reads, "Braune and Levy, Johannesburg. No. 1042." The painting itself dates from between 1904-1906. The date of publication of the postcard is unknown. The postcard shows sign of age and wear, including circular indentations in the top left, yellowing, and worn corners.
