English: I am Uzoma Ozurumba. I am an Igbo woman from the eastern part of Nigeria. I love speaking Igbo language at every opportunity I get. Wikimedia has given me an amazing opportunity to express myself in Igbo language and I am loving it!

Dear Uzoma, I'm glad to meet you and expand my Africa horizons. Following your lead, today I made my first edit in the IG WP project. Then I went to do helpful "Wikignome-work" (kind of housekeeping, fixing red links): under Ngwa Orü (lefthand column of navigation links), Lé imé Wikipedia nkà > Maintenance reports > Pages not connected to items. You won't see it here; the work is in Wikidata connecting these Template pages to their item there by matching the English text. There were 319 unconnected template pages when I started, so each time I visit here I'll do a few more. This frees up the precious time of Igbo-speaking contributors like you! Hi Deborahjay thank you for the edit, this will make Igbo Wikipedia a lot better. One thing I would point out is that most of the diacritical marks used in the Igbo Wikipedia interface are not for Igbo language. So this at times makes it difficult to understand the interface/tools. For instance "Ngwa Orü"(on the left-hand column)the diacritical mark is not correct, it is supposed to be "Ngwa Orụ". In fact, all the diacritical marks are wrong. Having said the above, am just hoping that you can do something about it since your contributions are backend.

I think any unique content from the earlier page must be included in the newer one, and a Merge of the two so that the earlier will be a REDIRECT page to a single article. I described this on Okwu:Alex Ifeanyichukwu Ekwueme#Earlier version of page. Also: which page title does the IG WP style standard prefer: with or without diacritical marks? I'm fine with the query - this will be valuable to add to my "virtual toolkit" (WP skills set). Besides "Citation needed" I've identified several additional useful templates (e.g. "Template:Translated page") as missing from the small WPs I follow in African languages where there's no Administrator and few active editors, most of whom are quite new. Update - I'm not progressing well on this matter. See today, Okwu àtụ:Infobox person#Syntax error. In fact, I've found several existing problems:

Templates missing content
The same template with a name in Igbo and a name in English, for the same purpose

I've seen several veteran users have created some of these pages in the past. Are you able to get in contact with Ọbanife:Ukabia and Ọbanife:Tochiprecious? I believe they're both speakers of Igbo. Perhaps they have the expertise needed to fix existing problems and add new (missing) templates. You can export pages on any wiki by going to Special:Export. You have to click the "include templates" box if you are exporting a template. To import, you can do so at Ihü_kárírí:BàÍfé if you're an administrator. Mvolz (WMF) (talk) 14:19, 10 Ọnwaàtọ 2021 (UTC)

Hi, the first thing we need to do is add template data to your citation templates. I have found:

Let me know if you have other templates I don't know about... these are old ones that were imported from English Wikipedia but don't seem to be used.

I've added some basic template data already to those using the "autopopulate" method, but it needs to be translated into Igbo. There are some directions on how to edit template data here: https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:TemplateData#TemplateData_editor_method - but basically if you go to the template and find the "edit templatedata" link above in the source editor, it will take you the template data editor.
