English: VILLAGE TOUR IN ODISHA WITH FAMOUS TRIBE OF KORAPUT

Forest plays an important role in enhancing livelihood requirements for rural community and in maintaining ecological balance. The rural communities directly rely on forest for their day-to-day requirement. The dependence of communities on forest can be judged from the fact that an average tribal family draws half of its annual income from forest.

Eastern Ghats Forests play a very significant role in the rural economy for thousands of years in terms of providing employment, income potential and life support.

Odisha (Orissa) is the homeland of roughly sixty two types of tribes and almost 25% of its population are Tribals. Though with the Time, the Tribes have lost their own identity and mingled with other community in search of better life or comfortable living, some of these Tribes managed to live with their own isolation and they are termed as Persons of Vulnerable Tribal Group.

[[Category:Holly Lake Located at an altitude of 12,00ft, this ethereal lake is one of the Sikkimese offerings that you cannot miss out at any cost! Locally called the ‘Changu Lake’, it is nestled amidst lofty peaks and enchanting glaciers. Translated into the local Bhutia language, it means the ‘source of the lakes’. Around 40km from the capital city of Sikkim, this oval shaped lake spreads around 1km and is 15m deep. While the winters freezes down this water reservoir, the spring makes it a colourful affair with many varieties of flowers. Also, a paradise for the bird-watchers, this Sikkim lake attracts a diverse range of migratory birds; the Brahmini Duck is one of the native species.]]
