English: This drawing shows the partitioning of excess heat from anthropogenic drivers of Earth's Energy Imbalance (EEI) into the atmosphere, ocean, land, and ice components of the system. Values are shown for the period 1971-2018 and 2010-2018, thus indicating that the energy imbalance (heating rate) has increased. The result also implies that the atmospheric CO2 concentration would need to be reduced by about 57ppm from the year 2018 level to stop the heating and restore the energy balance.
