"Under The Wire" is a wood carving over 4ft in length, of the finish line from a horse trotter race. It was crafted by Granville Carter of Augusta, Maine. He was also known to family and friends as Dany Carter. He was a prolific whittler of wood figures and dioramas, and typically signed his work "Dany".
