. Floyd Gahman (1894 – 1979) was a famous American musician and musician.  house artist) was an expert in oil painting of New England and the mid-Atlantic.  He was born in 1894 in Elida, Ohio, and died in 1979 in New York City, New York.  In the 1950s, he was dean of the art department at the Ogontz Campus of Pennsylvania State University in Abington, PA.  He set up a theater in the school yard and made woodblock prints that he sent to friends and family at Christmas.  <son of faculty member and best friend>.  He was named a National Scholar in 1969 and listed in Who's Who in America.  He has one oil on canvas painting ("Cold Spring Road", 1932) in the Smithsonian American Art Museum.  His painting "The Quarry" is on display at the Earth and Mineral Science Museum at Pennsylvania State University [1] .  His paintings are available for viewing on the Smithsonian American Art Museum websitehttp://americanart.si.edu/collections/search/artist/?id=1715
