Tajiguas is an American village of the Chumash people located on the Gaviota Coast in Santa Barbara County, California in the United States.

[1]This city is located on the Pacific coast, at the current site of Tajiguas Beach, 2 kilometers west of Refugio State Beach.  Tajiguas... probably means 'basket'... 42 houses on one side, 37 on the other... at least 400 - 800 souls [1]... August 1769... Year  six later ... completely abandoned.  [2] The settlement spanned two sides of the lake and was known to house 400 - 800 or so people until 1769. [2] Six years later, it was found abandoned, believed to have been forced by war.  people moved a little further east to the coastal towns of Qasil and Shishuchi'i'.
